CONSISTS OF THREE COURSES
Course One
Movement Principles: The Essentials of Pilates
16 hours*
This experiential course introduces the essential building blocks of the Pilates methodology. Instructors gain awareness of their own movement patterns and biases and learn how to train movement to optimize the body in motion and the stage for successful Pilates classes and sessions. Includes in-person and on-demand learning.

Course Two
Reformer Level 1 for the Fitness Professional
16 hours
Reformer Level 1 explores the limitless movement potential of the Reformer and teaches instructors how to safely utilize the Reformer in group settings. It provides the ‘why’ behind the ‘how’, empowering critical reasoning skills from the beginning of training. Students learn how to create dynamic group Reformer classes and how to cue the beginning and intermediate Pilates Reformer exercises. This module also reviews common modifications necessary for addressing individual member needs.
Pre-requisites
- Mat and Reformer ongoing personal practice
- Pilates Mat for the Fitness Professional or a Mat Certification preferred
- 2 to 5 years teaching experience as group instructor, personal trainer or yogi
Course Three
Reformer Level 2 for the Fitness Professional
16 hours
Reformer Level 2 expands on Reformer movement with intermediate and advanced exercises appropriate and safe in the group environment. This course includes progressions, regressions, and more common modifications. It also explores programs for specific populations, including pre and post–natal clients, those with osteoporosis and lower back issues. Class design and dynamic assessment also included.

FAQs
With each Reformer course offering, Reformer Level 1 and Reformer Level 2, you will be able to begin your teaching as agreed upon by your club manager/champion and start working on the Reformer. You will not receive your in-club certification until you have completed all the requirements and tested out
This is a specific certificate program designed to meet the needs of your club and organization. Upon successful completion of your program requirements, you will receive a certificate of completion from your club or organization powered by Balanced Body.
Yes! All of the coursework presented in the Pilates Reformer for the Fitness Professional maps directly with our internationally recognized certification program. All of the coursework you take will count toward the full certification and to complete the full certification program, you will need to complete additional requirements.
Once you complete the Pilates Reformer for the Fitness Professional program, you are almost done with your Pilates Reformer Certification. Additional requirements include Reformer 3 in-person course (16 hours), an approved Anatomy course (minimum of 12 hours), completion of additional hours including 20 hours of personal practice, 10 hours of observation and 20 hours of teaching, and a final written and practical exam.
