Join Nora St. John and Brian Richey for a dynamic workshop on the powerful intersection of Pilates and personal training. Focusing on key concepts of core integration, lumbopelvic positioning, dynamic scapular control, alignment, strength and endurance, you will learn principles and exercises to expand your mind and help your clients achieve their goals. We combine theory and practice into a fluid and dynamic presentation designed to keep you engaged, active and inspired. A detailed handout is included.
- Discuss the complementary training principles between Pilates and fitness exercises.
- Apply key concepts of core integration, lumbopelvic positioning and dynamic scapular control to exercises technique.
- Develop strategies for enhanced alignment through movement.
- Apply and learn new training techniques with a focus on improving movement skills.

Nora St. John
MS, NPCT, Balanced Body Educator, Education Content Creator
Teaching Pilates since 1988, Nora started Balanced Body Education in 2005 where she developed teacher training courses in Pilates, Anatomy in Three Dimensions and other modalities. She holds degrees in Biology, Dance and Traditional Chinese Medicine and is the author of 16 teacher training manuals and several magazine articles. Nora has studied Dance, Chinese Medicine, manual therapy, The Franklin Method, Anatomy in Clay and personal training to enhance her understanding of the body in motion. She is currently focused on creating educational experiences that are innovative, enlightening and effective including Moving Conversations, a podcast with Brian Richey and Advanced Movement Principles, an advanced training course for Pilates teachers working with injuries and imbalances.

Brian Richey is an author, educator, personal trainer, and industry leader in the fields of medical and corrective exercise. His unique approach to managing clients’ medical conditions through exercise has helped thousands move better, stand taller, and exercise pain-free. He is an Educator for Balanced Body and teaches courses ranging in Anatomy, Kinesiology, Physiology, Medical and Corrective Exercise and Rehabilitation. Brian is also the author of best selling book: Back Exercise; Stabilize. Mobilize and Reduce Pain.
